School-Business Partnerships of Long Island, Inc. and Longwood High School Present Jr. FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Expo
Team #2070, The Mind Twisters, of Dix Hills, pose at the Jr. FLL parade at the School Business Partnerships of Long Island’s (SBPLI) Jr. FIRST LEGO League Expo on March 2.
On March 2, School-Business Partnerships of Long Island, Inc. (SBPLI), in conjunction with Longwood Central School District, kicked off the sixth Annual Long Island Jr. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) LEGO League (FLL) Expo. Approximately 44 Jr. FLL teams participated in the tournament and all received recognition.
This year’s challenge was DISASTER BLASTERSM, in which children ages six to nine explored awe-inspiring storms, quakes, waves, and other natural disasters as they built a model made of LEGO® elements with a motorized part. The also presented a “Show Me” Poster, which students exhibited their research about natural disasters, how technology can help respond to natural disasters, and how first responders this use technology.
